Peachtree Monkey Teapot

If only photos could do justice to this intricately carved pot by Mr. Jiang Yan Min, any description would be extraneous.  It stands out like a jewel in any collection.  Every character, branch and leaf is carved with fine detail.  The monkeys have natural, playful expressions, and the wood carvings have realistic grain, knots and twists.  The monkey tree is a classic yixing nature theme, with a group of monkeys playing on a tree stump, and this is one of the best versions we have seen.  Of course, it also exhibits superb yixing brewing characteristics and functionality.
