About Starter Series Yixing Teapots

These pots offer a great introduction to Yixing pottery craft.  At a small fraction of the cost of an original master crafted pot, they offer essentially the same form, usability, and famous zisha clay material, albeit with less polish and detail than the master works.  Our Starter Series Yixing Teapots are replicas, selected for their high marks across all of our evaluation criteria.  Most of the pots in this series were crafted using some form of mechanical assistance, such as mechanical clay preparation, or use of forms, molds or stamps.  We value traditional craftwork though, so we generally select replicas that have the maximum amount of direct artisan handiwork, even when it introduces variations from one pot to the next.  At this price point, it is much easier to match a pot to each of your favorite teas.
